Hi, My Name is Sue-ellen Taormina,

     My  journey into  the wonderful world of reborn baby dolls began twenty one years ago after I attended a conference on dementia.where one of the sessions was on Doll therapy .

After many years of using several different brands of semi lifelike baby dolls, six years ago I stubbled upon the wonderful world of reborns  on the Internet while searching for a new Baby doll for the dementia unit I worked in.

Of course I wanted one for my Dementia Unit so I approached my boss with a request to purchase one off Ebay. She suggested I have a go at making one myself as I am also a makeup artist/Trainer.

I was up for a challenge and enrolled in some reborning classes to learn the fundamentals ( I already had a in depth understanding of Colour Physics and skin undertones as I was a trainer in these subjects at the  time) I soon realised that painting these babies was identical to painting a prosthetic for a film  and I had been lucky enough to learn the trade from some very talented artists in the industry .This has given me a formal qualification and the fact that I have achieved the highest awards in every competition I have entered is testimony to that.

I have not felt the need to seek  titles from the many guild out there as my formal qualifications speak for themselves.
